The Portugal rugby team, known as the ‘os lobos‘ or wolves, are the first amateur team to qualify for the Rugby World Cup. Portugal compete in the European Nations Cup.
Portugal face tough opposition in their group - in particular the All Blacks and Italy. Wins against Romania and perhaps Scotland may see them causing an upset at the early Pool Stages of the World Cup.
Portugal were surprise winners of the 2003-4 European Nations Cup and have continued to record impressive results.
